Marvin Freeman

Marvin Freeman photoMarvin Freeman is a former Major League Pitcher for Philadelphia (1984-90), Atlanta Braves (1990-94), Colorado Rockies (1994-96), Chicago White Sox (1996) and Toronto Blue Jays (1997).

Marvin is a Chicago native and grad of CVS High School in 1981. He was drafted in the 9th round by the Montreal Expos. He chose to attend Jackson State University where he was the Phillies #2 pick.

In 1984, he made his Major League debut in 1986.

Marvin was a member of the 2-time National League Champion Braves. In 1991-92, he led the league in 1994 in winning pct. of .833 had a 10-2 record was named Colorado Rockies Pitcher of the Year and finished 4th in Cy Young voting.

Marvin's last Major League game was with the Chicago White Sox in 1996. Marvin is currently running a youth pitching program, coaching high school, and instructing youths on the importance of physical and mental preparation involved in baseball.
